Hawai‘i P-3 Initiative has five community partnerships as demonstration projects to develop models of successful, seamless experiences for vulnerable children in early childhood education (P) and elementary schools (K-3) to improve access and quality early education experiences, particularly around literacy.
Issues, needs, and promising practices identified through these demonstration projects will be disseminated to inform system-building, led by the Early Learning Council, Hawai‘i State Department of Education, and the University of Hawai‘i.
The demonstration projects consist of 11 early childhood programs and 49 elementary schools in five sites: Honokaa Complex, Ka'u-Kea'au-Pahoa Complex, Nanakuli-Waianae Complex, Farrington Complex, Windward Complex. All sites have seven areas of focus.
HONOKA'A COMPLEX DEMONSTRATION PROJECT
The Baby Steps to Stronger Big Island Families project sites consists of Small World Preschool, Seagull School in Mauna Lani, PATCH and two elementary schools in the Honoka'a Complex:

KA'U-KEA'AU-PAHOA COMPLEX DEMONSTRATION PROJECT
This site was selected to leverage early care and education efforts for the state's Race to the Top plan. Elementary schools being supported in this project include:

FARRINGTON COMPLEX DEMONSTRATION PROJECT
The Farrington Complex P-3 demonstration project sites consists of Kindergarten Children Aid Association (KCAA) Preschools of Hawai‘i, Parents and Children Together (PACT) and Honolulu Community Action Program (HCAP) early childhood programs and nine elementary schools in the community.
