    Science Summit – September 21, 2018

    Hawai‘i P-20 hosted the 2018 science summit How the Next Generation Science Standards Intersect with College, Career, and Community Readiness. This statewide summit brought together Hawai‘i DOE and higher education administrators, science faculty, and teacher preparation faculty to consider the role the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) play in preparing students for college and career readiness. One main objective for the summit is to promote discussions about best practices for implementing NGSS to ensure every student in Hawai‘i has equal access to opportunities for success in higher education science courses. Speakers included Dr. Brian Reiser and Dr. Megan Bang from Northwestern University and Dr. Philip Bell from the University of Washington.
